While the Google Pixel 7 series was the highlight of Google’s recent Pixel event, the company’s first smartwatch wasn’t far behind. After many rumors and teasers, the Pixel Watch finally made its debut alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro.
Pixel Watch Price
The Google Pixel Watch is priced at $349 (Roughly Rs 28,700) for the Bluetooth/Wi-Fi model and $399 (Roughly Rs 32,800) for the 4G LTE variant. Customers who buy the Pixel Watch can avail of six months of Fitbit Premium and three months of YouTube Premium membership. The Pixel Watch will also come with an array of bands, which will be available for less than $49.
The Wi-Fi-only model comes in Obsidian, Hazel, and Chalk colors, while the LTE model comes in Obsidian, Hazel, and Charcoal color options. Google announced the availability of the Pixel Watch in nine countries, although India wasn’t one of them.
Pixel Watch Features
The Pixel Watch is powered by the standard Exynos 9110 chipset, the same chip used on the Galaxy Watch 3. The chip is paired with 2GB of RAM, which is more than that on the Galaxy Watch 5 series. The smartwatch also has an ECG tracker and a heart rate sensor. Google’s first smartwatch runs Wear OS 3.5.
Besides Google Assistant support, the Pixel Watch also brings health and fitness features courtesy of Fitbit. The Pixel Watch sports a 1.6-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a 320 PPI pixel density. Google claims the Pixel Watch can deliver a full day of battery life on a single charge.
The display is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5, while the watch’s chassis is made of stainless steel. The smartwatch also features a 5ATM water resistance. Connectivity options include the LTE model’s Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, and 4G. Google says that the Pixel Watch will also introduce fall detection, similar to what we see on the Apple Watch, although that feature won’t be available until 2023.
