Dyson launches its Zone headphones with detachable air purifiers in India for Rs 59,900

Dyson has entered the wearable tech segment in India by launching its first headphones, the Dyson Zone. These headphones have many features, including noise cancellation, transparent mode, and a remarkable claim of up to 50 hours of playtime.

One unique feature of the Dyson Zone is its air filtration visor, a detachable visor that accompanies the headphones, setting them apart in the market.

The Dyson Zone headphones will be available at Dyson’s demo stores and website. They come in two variants: Dyson Zone and Dyson Zone Absolute Plus, with a starting price of Rs 59,900 for Dyson Zone and Rs 64,900 for Dyson Zone Absolute Plus.

According to Joe Staniforth, Head of the Wearables category at Dyson, “Dyson Zone headphones have been engineered to actively monitor and combat city noise while ensuring an uninterrupted, immersive listening experience through high fidelity and low-distortion audio.”

Charging the Dyson Zone headphones takes approximately 3 hours to reach a full charge. When used with air filtration, the headphones can last up to 4 hours in low mode, 2.5 hours in medium mode, and 1.5 hours in high mode.

These headphones are equipped with 11 microphones, of which eight are employed for noise reduction, effectively reducing noise by up to 38dB and monitoring surrounding sounds an astonishing 384,000 times per second.

The Dyson Zone headphones can reproduce frequencies from 6Hz to 21kHz and come with 40mm and 16-ohm neodymium speakers for high-quality audio output.

A standout feature of the Dyson Zone headphones is their ability to be equipped with a removable visor to project purified air. Each earcup houses compressors that draw in air through double-layer filters, projecting two streams of pure air to the user’s nose and mouth via the non-contact visor. These headphones employ electrostatic filters to remove particles as small as 0.1 microns and activated carbon filters to absorb gases like nitrogen dioxide, as claimed by Dyson.

Users can control the Dyson Zone headphones through the MyDyson app, which allows adjustment of airflow speed, noise reduction mode, and audio equalization. The app offers three customizable ways: Dyson EQ (enhanced), Bass Boost (for enhanced bass), and Neutral (a flatter audio response curve). It also provides real-time monitoring of NO2 and ambient noise levels in the air.
