AI to replace influencers? Mark Zuckerberg certainly thinks so as Meta looks for new ways to monetise

Social media influencers will soon be a thing of the past; at least, that’s what Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg thinks. Zuckerberg unveiled a wave of transformative developments Meta has made in AI and their possible use cases. These innovative initiatives encompass AI-driven vertical chatbots and the Meta AI assistant, designed to redefine user engagement and unlock fresh monetization opportunities.

Zuckerberg also expressed his conviction that generative AI technology will profoundly reshape how people use Meta’s suite of applications. He envisioned a future where AI-generated or edited content would play an increasingly pivotal role in users’ consumption.

Content creators will be empowered with tools that streamline content creation and enhance appeal, promising more enjoyable user experiences. However, they do not necessarily need to face the camera as influencers

Furthermore, Zuckerberg highlighted the potential for AI to be a driving force behind content creation. Over time, he suggested, AI might take on the responsibility of producing a significant portion of the content consumed by users. This could result in highly personalized content tailored to individual preferences.

Zuckerberg underscored their uniqueness by addressing the significance of AI agents compared to prior Meta initiatives. Unlike previous innovations, Meta’s generative AI technology represents a groundbreaking approach with the potential to alter user behavior within Feed apps and messaging platforms substantially.

This AI-driven strategy is poised to revolutionize advertising by simplifying the creative process for businesses, enabling them to experiment with various content versions, spanning images and text.

Meta’s latest offering, the Meta AI assistant, ushers in a new era of real-time information access and image generation through AI interaction. Additionally, the company introduced the AI Studio, a platform featuring a diverse array of AI characters for user interactions.

Zuckerberg emphasized the importance of offering various AI options for multiple purposes, including community building, customer support, and e-commerce assistance.

While the precise impact of these AI assistants remains uncertain, Zuckerberg believes they will play a pivotal role in reshaping interactions within messaging apps.

These AI enhancements complement human interaction, making conversations more engaging and dynamic. Users can seamlessly integrate AI characters into group chats, fostering interactive and entertaining experiences. Furthermore, these AI characters can establish profiles on popular social platforms like Instagram and Facebook, enabling them to generate content and interact with one another, thus creating a unique form of entertainment and engagement.
