The South Korean tech giant has introduced its latest lineup of cutting-edge smart TVs and showcased its flagship OLED 4K and Neo QLED 8K models equipped with the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor, featuring on-device AI capabilities for image upscaling and audio enhancement.

First showcased at the Unbox and Discover 2024 launch event in Bengaluru, these state-of-the-art TVs mark Samsung’s foray into on-device generative AI technology. This also marks the beginning of a new trend in home entertainment involving AI-powered devices.

The Neo QLED 8K series, powered by TizenOS, represents a breakthrough by Samsung and offers cloud gaming, an education hub, and intelligent yoga functionalities, which can be accessed by pairing the TV with an AI-powered mat.

Samsung sweetens the deal for early adopters by offering complimentary soundbars or alternative options like the Freestyle or Music Frame to users who pre-order the Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, or glare-free OLED models before April 30, 2024.

JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia, highlighted the company’s commitment to elevating the home entertainment experience through AI integration. “We have integrated AI into home entertainment to offer exceptional viewing experiences for our consumers. Our 2024 range of Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, and OLED TVs redefines the home entertainment experience and offers innovations across accessibility, sustainability, and enhanced security with the power of AI,” he said.

The Neo QLED 48, featuring the NQ8 AI Gen3 processor with 512 neural networks, introduces groundbreaking AI technologies such as AI Picture Technology, AI Upscaling Pro, and AI Sound Technology.

Meanwhile, the Neo QLED 4K and OLED TVs, powered by the previous generation NQ4 AI Gen2 processor, offer various features tailored to meet diverse consumer demands.
