OpenAl’s ChatGPT service faces massive outage, leaves users frustrated

OpenAI’s chatbot, ChatGPT, is experiencing a significant outage. Hundreds of users are unable to access the service, and instead, constant error messages are displayed. Users worldwide have reported that the core chatbot feature is inaccessible while the website itself is still available.

The scale of the problems and difficulties reported for both OpenAI and ChatGPT on Down Detector, a platform where users report server problems, has significantly increased.

Users in India and the US encountered substantial interruptions, primarily impacting the chatbot’s basic operation.

In India, 82% of recorded complaints were directly related to ChatGPT’s inability to react to enquiries. Mobile application issues accounted for 14% of complaints, while 4% of users reported difficulty with API integration.

In the United States, over 900 customers reported troubles, with 93 percent of those affected experiencing problems with ChatGPT. Six percent of users experienced app-related troubles, while one percent had login issues.

OpenAI reported on its official status page that the disruption also affected Sora, the company’s text-to-video creation platform.

Currently, both essential services are unavailable, frustrating users who depend on these AI tools for various jobs.
