Nothing launches Phone 2a starting at Rs 19,999, also launches CMF Buds, Neckband Pro in India

The Nothing Phone 2a, the third smartphone from the brand led by former OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, was officially launched in India on Tuesday, March 5. This new phone from the UK-based company is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC and boasts a stunning AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.

It has dual 50MP cameras at the back and a solid IP54-rated build. The Nothing Phone 2a also introduces the company’s unique Glyph Interface with new lighting options and functions.

In addition to the Nothing Phone 2a, the sub-brand CMF by Nothing has unveiled two new audio products: the CMF Neckband Pro and the CMF Buds. These new audio devices were launched alongside the Nothing Phone 2a at a hybrid event in New Delhi, led by co-founder and CEO Carl Pei.

The Neckband Pro offers impressive 50dB hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), while the CMF Buds provide 42dB ANC support. These products mark the latest additions to the lineup of Nothing’s sub-brand, offering enhanced audio experiences for consumers in India and worldwide.

Nothing Phone 2a specifications
The Nothing Phone 2a is a dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone that operates on the Android 14-based Nothing OS 2.5. It’s promised to receive three years of Android updates and four years of security patches, ensuring long-term support for users.

Featuring a 6.7-inch full-HD+ AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, it offers an adaptive refresh rate from 30Hz to 120Hz for smooth visuals. With a pixel density of 394 ppi and HDR 10+ support, the screen delivers vibrant colors and crisp images. It also boasts a 240Hz touch sampling rate, a 2160Hz PWM frequency, and 1,300 nits of peak brightness for an immersive viewing experience.

Under the hood, the Nothing Phone 2a is powered by an octa-core 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC coupled with up to 12GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance even during multitasking or gaming sessions.

Regarding photography, the Nothing Phone 2a features a dual-camera setup with two 50MP sensors. The primary sensor has an f/1.88 aperture lens and supports optical image stabilization (OIS) and electronic image stabilization (EIS), while the secondary ultra-wide sensor offers a 114-degree field of view. For selfies, there’s a 32MP front camera with an f/2.2 aperture.

Storage-wise, the Nothing Phone 2a offers up to 256GB of built-in storage, providing ample space for apps, photos, and videos. It has many connectivity options, including 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Additionally, it features an in-display fingerprint sensor for convenient unlocking, along with sensors like an accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor.

The smartphone has high-definition microphones and dual stereo speakers for immersive audio experiences. Its IP54-rated dust- and water-resistant build provides durability against everyday usage. Furthermore, it supports face unlock for added security and convenience.

Powering the Nothing Phone 2a is a robust 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W fast charging. This represents a significant upgrade over its predecessors, offering longer battery life and faster charging speeds. The phone is claimed to last up to two days on a single charge and can be charged from zero to 50 percent in just 23 minutes, reaching full charge in 59 minutes. With dimensions of 161.74×76.32×8.55mm and weighing 190 grams, it offers a sleek and lightweight design for comfortable usage.

CMF Neckband Pro specifications
The CMF Neckband Pro has a 13.6mm dynamic driver unit, incorporating the company’s Ultra Bass Technology 2.0, delivering powerful and immersive sound quality. It boasts a 50dB hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with a transparency mode, ensuring users enjoy their music without distractions. With five microphones featuring Clear Voice Technology, the Neckband Pro ensures crystal-clear calls even in noisy environments. Additionally, it has an IP55 rating for dust and splash resistance, making it suitable for outdoor and active use.

The Neckband Pro comes with convenient triple-tap gesture controls, allowing users to easily adjust volume, play, pause, skip tracks, and control ANC modes. Users can also customize their listening experience using the Nothing X app, which offers additional features like equalizer adjustments.

Powered by a 220mAh battery, the CMF Neckband Pro offers 37 hours of continuous playback time. Furthermore, it supports fast charging, enabling users to enjoy 18 hours of usage time with just a 10-minute charge, even with ANC turned off. This ensures that users enjoy uninterrupted music playback throughout the day without worrying about battery life.

CMF Buds specifications
The CMF Buds are wireless stereo (TWS) earphones featuring 12.4mm dynamic drivers and the same Ultra Bass technology 2.0 found in the CMF Neckband Pro. These earbuds provide an immersive audio experience with powerful bass and clear sound quality. With 42dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and a transparency mode, users can enjoy their music without interference or stay aware of their surroundings when needed.

Equipped with four HD microphones, the CMF Buds enhance call quality by reducing background noise and ensuring clear communication. They also come with an IP54 rating for dust and splash resistance, making them suitable for use during workouts or outdoor activities.

Each CMF Buds earbud is powered by a 45mAh battery, while the charging case houses a 460mAh battery. The company claims that users can enjoy up to eight hours of continuous playback on a single charge, or 35.5 hours, including the charging case. Additionally, with support for fast charging, just 10 minutes provides users with 6.5 hours of usage.

Regarding connectivity, the CMF Neckband Pro and CMF Buds support Bluetooth 5.3 and allow dual-device connection. They are compatible with Android 5.1 and iOS 13 and higher, and they support Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair for seamless pairing with compatible devices.

Nothing Phone 2a, CMF Neckband Pro, and Buds Price in India
The Nothing Phone 2a’s base variant, with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, costs Rs. 23,999. It is also available in two other configurations: 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, priced at Rs. 25,999, and 12GB RAM with 256GB storage, priced at Rs. 27,999. The phone is available in white and black and will be sold exclusively on Flipkart starting March 12.

As part of a special launch offer, the Nothing Phone 2a can be purchased at a discounted price of just Rs. 19,999 for one day only on March 12 through Flipkart. Furthermore, customers using HDFC bank cards can avail a cashback of Rs. 2,000 on their purchase. Additionally, there is an exchange offer where buyers can get an additional Rs. 2,000 discount. To make it more affordable, no-cost EMI options are available for up to nine months.

The CMF Neckband Pro is priced at Rs. 1,999, while the CMF Buds, alongside the CMF Buds Pro, are available at Rs. 2,499. Both audio products are in dark grey, light grey, and orange.

Both devices have an introductory price during the initial launch period. The CMF Buds will be available on March 8 at noon, with a special price of Rs. 2,299 for a limited time. Similarly, the Neckband Pro will be available starting March 11 at noon, with an introductory price of Rs. 1,799.

These audio products can be purchased from various platforms, including Flipkart, Myntra, Croma, and Vijay Sales. Moreover, before the official sale date, there will be an exclusive limited drop on Myntra on March 6 at noon.
