Rockstar Games has finally launched Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition for iOS and Android mobile platforms, featuring its three iconic games: Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Netflix subscribers can now enjoy these games for free, as announced by Rockstar Games.
The creative and game development studio behind the iconic Grand Theft Auto series unveiled the mobile versions with greatly improved visual and gameplay enhancements, promising an elevated gaming experience. Among the notable improvements is the introducing of a Classic Lighting mode, meticulously designed to recreate the atmospheric sky visuals from the original games.
Netflix Games had previously teased the arrival of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, expanding the accessibility beyond mobile to platforms such as PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
In a related update, Rockstar Games recently unveiled the Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer, slated for a 2025 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. The trailer introduces Lucia and Jason, the game’s crime-fueled protagonists, and offers a glimpse of Vice City, a fictionalized iteration of Miami where the narrative unfolds.
The titles can be conveniently downloaded via the official Netflix mobile app for Netflix subscribers eager to get their hands on the GTA trilogy. Users can select the game they want within the app’s Games section and click the “Get Game” button, which will then take the user to their device’s official app store for a hassle-free download.
Alternatively, gamers can directly access the official Android and iOS app stores to download Rockstar Games titles. It’s worth noting that, at least on iOS, these games are not available for free when downloaded directly from the App Store.
