A Shenzhen-based smartphone manufacturer, Honor, is entering the world of artificial intelligence and robotics. China has advanced significantly in AI and robotics. Recently, at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 held in Barcelona from March 2, 2026, to March 5.
The company has introduced two major products: its first humanoid Robot and an innovative smartphone called the Robot Phone.
Humanoid robot
Honor showcased its humanoid robot at a gala event ahead of MWC. The robot performed a series of gestures and motions that were controlled remotely. The company indicated that the robot is meant for customer service applications in the future. At the same time, the details and other specifications remain undisclosed.
The company’s humanoid robot is designed for three main uses: assisting with shopping, providing companionship, and conducting workplace inspections. The robot aims to provide customer-focused design and to help people perform various activities.
Robot phone
Honor has also introduced a Robot Phone equipped with an amazing 200-megapixel camera. The camera provides features ranging from user interaction to photography.
It also embeds smooth cinematic pans that are otherwise challenging to achieve manually. The launch of the Robot Phone is set for the second half of this year, according to company representatives.
As per the representatives, the phone is designed to enable more realistic human-like interaction with AI, including command features, voice command recognition, subject tracking, and gesture understanding.
During the Honor event, the CEO of the company, Li Jian, said, “I believe AI must spin out… and into our physical world. This is why we create Honor robots. If the smartphone is an extension of our minds, the robot would be an extension of our hands. It connects us to a whole new world of services.”
