Google expanded its product lineup in India by launching the Pixel Watch 3, its third-generation smartwatch, alongside the Pixel Buds Pro 2, a new set of truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones.
The company also unveiled its most recent Pixel 9 series smartphones at the Made by Google Hardware event where these new devices debuted. The Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Buds Pro 2 feature AI and other personal tech designed to enhance the user experience on wearable devices.
Pixel Watch 3: Specifications and features
The Pixel Watch 3 is available in two display sizes, 41mm and 45mm, providing users with options to suit their preferences. The watch is equipped with Google’s new Actua display, a significant upgrade from the AMOLED screen used in the previous generation. This display supports a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, making it easier to view the screen in bright environments. In low-light conditions, the brightness can dim to just one nit, minimizing eye strain. Additionally, the bezels are now over 16% thinner, making the watch look sleeker.
The Pixel Watch 3 introduces several new fitness-tracking features. Users can plan detailed running routines and monitor metrics like cadence, stride length, and vertical oscillation. The watch also supports new readiness and cardio load-tracking features to help users focus on recovery and optimize their fitness plans. Fitbit users will benefit from a Morning Brief feature that summarizes their health information, including overnight changes in key metrics.
Despite the new features, battery life remains consistent with the previous model, offering up to 24 hours of use with the always-on display mode enabled. However, when the battery-saver mode is activated, the Pixel Watch 3 can last up to 36 hours. The 41mm variant also supports 20% faster charging than the second-generation Pixel Watch, making it more convenient for users with busy schedules.
Pixel Buds Pro 2: Specifications and features
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 are Google’s latest TWS earphones, featuring the new Tensor A1 chip, significantly boosting performance. This chip is designed to process audio at speeds 90 times faster than the speed of sound and is claimed to be twice as effective at active noise cancellation (ANC) compared to the first-generation Pixel Buds Pro. The earbuds also include Google’s Silent Seal 2.0 technology, which enhances noise cancellation, particularly at higher frequencies.
The Tensor A1 chip has optimized the 11mm dynamic drivers on the Pixel Buds Pro 2 to deliver superior music playback. The updated Clear Calling feature reduces ambient noise during phone calls, providing more transparent communication. The earphones also support seamless audio switching between Pixel devices, including the Pixel Watch, enhancing convenience for users with multiple Google devices.
A standout feature of the Pixel Buds Pro 2 is Conversation Detection. This feature automatically pauses media playback, enables transparency mode when the user starts talking, resumes ANC, and plays back when the conversation ends. The earbuds also integrate with Google’s Find My Device network, allowing users to locate them on a map and ring the earbuds or charging case when they are nearby.
