A few days after giving students across the world free SAT practice tests, Google Gemini has now turned its focus to India’s most competitive exam, the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main. The tech giant announced that students can now take full-length JEE Main mock tests directly on Gemini, Google’s AI-powered assistant, completely free of charge.
All they need to do is type: “I want to take a JEE Main mock test.”
According to Google, the practice tests are designed to replicate the real JEE Main experience, featuring “rigorously vetted content” in collaboration with two of India’s most trusted education platforms, PhysicsWallah and Careers360.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the official Gemini account wrote, “Practice JEE Mains are grounded in rigorously vetted content in partnership with @physics__wallah and @careers360. Gemini will provide immediate feedback highlighting where you excelled and where you might need to study more.”
The company says Gemini not only generates exam-style questions but also offers detailed feedback after each test, pinpointing areas of strength and highlighting topics that need more work.
The integration means students no longer need to pay for or hunt down reliable mock tests online. Gemini handles everything, from generating questions and timing sections to explaining mistakes and offering personalised study advice.
The announcement quickly gained traction online, with students, teachers, and even parents weighing in. Many called it a “game-changer” for India’s massive community of JEE aspirants, over a million students who sit the exam each year.
One user posted, “As an Indian, I know how expensive it is to prepare for JEE these days. This is definitely going to help students with no money, and it’s huge for those preparing seriously.” Another joked, “Nothing makes an Indian parent panic-spend like JEE prep. This just saved families lakhs of rupees.”
The JEE Main feature comes hot on the heels of Gemini’s free SAT mock tests, which were introduced last week. Those can be accessed by typing “I want to take a practice SAT” into Gemini.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai seemed particularly delighted about the rollout, posting on X, “If I could turn back time… excited for SATs last week and JEE Main this week in Gemini at no cost!”
With both SAT and JEE practice tests now live, Gemini is steadily transforming into a one-stop academic companion for students worldwide. Whether it’s American high schoolers aiming for Ivy League universities or Indian teens dreaming of IIT, Google’s AI chatbot seems to have found its next big purpose, making quality exam prep free, accessible, and just a chat away.
