Google has introduced Gemini Intelligence on Android, bringing advanced Gemini features to its latest devices. The update combines premium hardware integration with innovative software to help users stay ahead, work proactively, and complete tasks efficiently throughout the day, while ensuring data security.
These new add-ons will roll out in phases, starting with the latest Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices, before expanding to other smart devices. They stand out for their ability to automate repetitive tasks, with Google highlighting its refined multi-step automation capabilities designed to assist users more effectively.
Soon, Gemini will be able to navigate tasks on behalf of users, allowing them to focus on more important work. This automation becomes even more powerful when combined with screen and image context, enabling Gemini to convert visual information directly into actionable steps.
Smarter browsing assistant
Google has also announced that, from June, Android devices will receive a smarter web browsing assistant. Gemini Intelligence in Google Chrome will help users research, summarise, and compare content across the web. A new auto-browse function will also handle routine and time-consuming tasks on the user’s behalf.
Personal intelligence features
Additional features, such as Personal Intelligence, will allow users to automatically fill forms and small information fields in apps and browsers. This feature will be strictly opt-in, meaning users can choose when to turn it on or off via settings.
Enhanced writing and communication
With a new intelligence add-on for Gboard, spoken words can be transformed into polished narratives and structured text. This feature, called “Rambler,” aims to refine thoughts into well-formed summaries without requiring users to capture every nuance of speech.
Gemini Intelligence also supports multilingual input, allowing users to seamlessly switch between languages within a single message, whether mixing English with Hindi or other languages.
Custom widgets
Users will also be able to create custom widgets, enabling deeper personalization of their devices. This feature will be available across smartphones and Wear OS devices, ensuring that important information remains easily accessible and always in view.
Gemini Intelligence introduces an updated design language built on Material 3 Expressive, combining visual appeal with functionality through purposeful animations that help reduce distractions and improve focus.
Beyond aesthetics, Gemini Intelligence streamlines digital tasks and enables more personalized interfaces, reshaping how users interact with their devices.
