Foxconn building the world’s largest chip fab facility in Mexico, dedicated to NVIDIA GB200 AI Chip

According to a senior executive from the Taiwanese company, Foxconn, the global electronics manufacturing giant, is constructing the world’s largest facility dedicated to producing NVIDIA’s GB200 chips.

This new facility, which will cater to the massive demand for NVIDIA’s AI-focused Blackwell platform, highlights Foxconn’s growing involvement in the artificial intelligence boom.

Benjamin Ting, Foxconn’s senior vice president for cloud enterprise solutions, announced during the company’s annual tech day in Taipei. Ting emphasized the importance of the partnership between Foxconn and NVIDIA, stating, “We’re building the largest GB200 production facility on the planet,” though he did not disclose its exact location.

The facility, which is expected to be located in Mexico, will be a crucial part of Foxconn’s efforts to meet the surging demand for NVIDIA’s AI technology.

Ting highlighted the enormous need for NVIDIA’s Blackwell platform, with demand continuously growing. At the same event, Deepu Talla, NVIDIA’s vice president for AI and robotics, confirmed that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, who had attended last year’s tech day, had hoped to participate this year but could not.

Foxconn, widely known for assembling Apple’s iPhones, now positions itself as a significant player in the AI and server markets. Foxconn Chairman Young Liu stated that the company’s supply chain is fully prepared to support the AI revolution.

Liu also emphasized Foxconn’s ability to integrate advanced technologies, including the sophisticated liquid cooling and heat dissipation systems required for the high-performance GB200 servers, showcasing the company’s readiness for the next generation of AI hardware production.

As AI continues to shape the future of technology, Foxconn’s new facility for NVIDIA’s GB200 chips further solidifies the company’s expanding role in the global AI landscape. The partnership with NVIDIA places Foxconn at the forefront of the AI hardware industry as the demand for AI-driven platforms continues to soar globally.
