Facebook Messenger gets updated to send disappearing photos and videos

While Facebook’s Messenger is regularly updated with smaller features and additions to the interface. But a new report suggests that Messenger could receive a major update soon which is going to change a number of things including a design interface change.

Uncovering the series of changes planned by Facebook, WABetainfo in a blog post states that the new additions include a change in design, the addition of disappearing photos and videos, automatic translation and other minor changes.

The new interface as part of the version 156.0 update wears a new simple UI which looks clean and straightforward. However, the UI is an experimental one as of now and Facebook may tweak things a little before it is pushed out.

Tapping and holding on to a conversation unveils a new design for the quick action toggle which comes with a few quick buttons to interact with the particular chat.

WABetaInfo has also confirmed that the quick action toggle is fully ready and should not see any changes before it is pushed out.

Messenger has previously copied Snapchat in adding the Stories feature to its interface. Facebook is now planning to ape Snapchat’s unique feature of being able to send and receive disappearing photos and videos and this feature looks well on its way to the Messenger app soon.
