EIGHT BILLION AND COUNTING: WORLD WILL TAKE ANOTHER 15 YEARS TO ADD NEXT BILLION

The world’s population reached eight billion on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. The United Nations report claims that by 2030 there could be 850 crore people on Earth, 9700 million by 2050, and 10,400 million by 2100.

The report reveals that the average age of human beings has also increased by nine to 72.8 years compared to 1990 to 2019.

By 2050 a human will live an average of 77.2 years. On the other hand, women live an average of 5.4 years longer than men. Their average age is 73.4 years, and that of males is 68.4 years.

According to the United Nations report, it is a milestone in human development. Public health, nutrition, sanitation, and medicine improvements are believed to be the main reasons behind this phenomenal growth.

12 years to grow 1 billion

According to the report, it has taken 12 years for the global population to grow from seven to eight billion; by 2037, it will reach 9 billion.

The growth rate on the decline

According to the report, the overall growth rate of the global population is slowing down.

Population: India to take over China by 2023

India will overtake China to become the most populous country by 2023. The world population is estimated to reach 1040 million around 2080.

Half of the world will live in eight countries.

By 2050, India, Pakistan, Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Nigeria, the Philippines, and Tanzania will be home to 50 percent of the world’s population.

Fertility rate: lowest since 1950

The slowest growth rate since 1950 has resulted in a decline in fertility in many countries. The population has been growing at the slowest pace since 1950. In 2020, it came down to less than one percent.

India’s population will decline in 2100

According to a report by the Institute of Health Metrics Evaluation, India’s Fertility Rate after 78 years, in 2100, will be at 1.29, far lower than the UN’s estimate of 1.69. India’s population may decrease by 433 million in the year 2100 from the estimated.

The highest number of migrants from Pakistan in the last decade

From 2010 to 2021, 1.65 crore Pakistanis left their country and migrated to other countries. After this, 35 lakh people from India, 29 lakhs from Bangladesh, 16 lakhs from Nepal, and 10 lakh from Sri Lanka went to other countries.
