Artificial Intelligence was invented to make human life more accessible, profitable, and fast, but the question is: is AI helping us or just making us lethargic? Our communication is now all affected by how AI is supposed to tell us exactly what to do.
Walking into any lecture hall, Zoom session, or YouTube video reveals a similar pattern. The words chosen are all the same. There is a creepy uniformity that wasn’t there before, favoured by AI.
Words like prowess, ta andestry are favoured most by the well-known ChatGPT. These words are creeping into the vocabulary and becoming the most common, unlike words such as unearth, bolster, and nuance, which are less favoured by the Chatbot.
Is ChChatbotaking human minds machine-centric?
Researchers have found that ChatGPT has a linguistic effect on how most of us speak and communicate.
Since the release of ChatGPT, there has been a decline in originality. A Pakistani newspaper used an AI chatbot to draft ChatGPT art. Is this the end of the creative era? In about 18 months of ChatGPT, most speakers used words straight out of an AI bot.
Words such as “meticulous,” “delve,” “realm,” and “adept” were used the most in three years prior t it. These are frequently used not only in public debate but also in TED Talks.
Social media is a clear example of AI bots; no caption is drafted without them. Either one uses it to polish it or correct the grammar.
Uniformity in speech
The researchers ruled out other possible change points before ChatGPT’s release. They confirmed that these words align with those favored by the model, as established in an earlier study comparing 10,000 human- and AI-edited texts.
It is not just that we are adopting AI language; it becomes a question of how we are beginning to understand. Researchers suspect that AI influence is starting to show up in tone, structured writing, and emotional expression, leading to what humans—huhumanslead-worthyas instructed by their prompts.
During online conversations, the other partner is using AI to show their emotions. Should I ban online conversation sentences from there instead of making efforts for the other person? Sometimesthe AI usage, it’s a suspicion, aneffort
We have other verbal stumbles, regional idioms, and off-kilter phrases that signal vulnerability, authenticity, and personhood.
The problem compounds when you consider that one is helpless without AI. Chatbots are designed solely to research and make our lives easier, but using them to any extent beyond that is repulsive.
Lack of comprehension
Examples of this include ChatGPT repeating the prompt back to the user in non-standard American English due to a lack of comprehension and significantly exaggerating the input dialect.
WWe’reapproaching a tipping point, where AAI’simpact on human writing and speaking moves between the poles of standardization, from drafting personal emails, formal presentations, and authentic expression in personal chats, AI is overpowering the human race.
We’re seeing early signs that people will push back when AI influence becomes too apparent, while technology may evolve to mirror human diversity better rather than flatten it.
