Apple has rolled out its latest MacBook Pro series in India, showcasing powerful new M4 chips and enhanced AI capabilities. With prices starting at Rs 1,69,900, the updated line offers options packed with Apple’s M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips, each designed to push processing power and battery life to new heights. The series includes a 14-inch model starting with the base M4 chip and a 16-inch version equipped with the M4 Max chip, appealing to professionals who need efficient, high-performance laptops.
The new MacBook Pros are a haven for creative and professional users, featuring Thunderbolt 5 ports, allowing for impressive 120 Gbps data transfer speeds, and easily accommodating heavy multimedia tasks. The models also bring in a fresh 12MP Center Stage camera that utilizes a wide-angle lens to keep users centered during video calls, ensuring smooth remote communication. An optional nano-texture display adds a practical touch for outdoor work, reducing glare, while a Liquid Retina XDR display offers superb brightness, with up to 1,600 nits for HDR content and 1,000 nits for SDR. These advanced display options mean the laptops can handle bright environments without compromising image quality.
Regarding processing muscle, the M4 chips enhance performance, focusing on AI workloads and machine learning. The M4 Pro and M4 Max models cater specifically to demanding tasks like video editing and 3D rendering, with up to 128GB of unified memory on the M4 Max model, ensuring that even the heaviest applications run smoothly. Both laptops support Apple’s macOS Sequoia, which now includes “Apple Intelligence” features, such as productivity tools for system-wide text summarisation and rewriting, boosting security and user experience.
Battery life is a major highlight, with Apple claiming up to 24 hours on a single charge. While this duration is expected to apply primarily to video playback rather than resource-intensive tasks, the long-lasting battery life makes these laptops a solid choice for users needing dependable on-the-go performance.
Apple’s commitment to sustainability shines through in this lineup. Each new MacBook Pro is built using 100 percent recycled aluminum, rare earth elements, and tin, aligning with the company’s goal of achieving a carbon-neutral footprint by 2030. The new MacBook Pro range reflects Apple’s continued focus on eco-friendly design without sacrificing power or performance.
Despite these internal upgrades, the MacBook Pro’s external design remains largely the same, offering familiarity alongside its new tech enhancements. With pricing set competitively, the 14-inch model with the M4 Pro chip is available at Rs 1,99,900, while the top-end 16-inch model with the M4 Max chip starts at Rs 2,49,900. Education discounts are available, bringing the starting price down to Rs 1,59,900 for the entry-level 14-inch model and Rs 2,29,900 for the 16-inch model, making it more accessible to students and educators.
Pre-orders for the MacBook Pro series are now open, and customers can expect the devices to arrive at Apple Stores locations and authorized retailers across India by 8 November. With this launch, Apple aims to meet the needs of tech-savvy consumers looking for powerful, AI-driven devices that blend performance with sustainable design.
