Apple iPhone 15 Pro series: Specs, pricing, availability here’s everything to know about iPhone 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max

Apple unveiled the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max during its ‘Wonderlust’ event, streamed live from Apple Park in California this Tuesday. These smartphones are powered by Apple’s cutting-edge A17 Pro chipset, delivering impressive performance.

One of the most notable new features is the latest programmable Action button, similar to the one on the Apple Watch Ultra. Unlike their predecessors, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have a USB Type-C charging port. The top-of-the-line model also boasts a periscope camera setup, enhancing its zoom capabilities.

The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max have impressive displays, boasting a 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen. These displays incorporate Apple’s Ceramic Shield material and can reach peak brightness levels of up to 2,000 nits.

Both phones also carry an IP68 rating, ensuring dust and water resistance. What sets them apart is Apple’s new 3nm A17 Pro chipset, which delivers a 10 percent increase in performance and offers up to three times more efficiency than the competition.

In terms of construction, these handsets feature Grade 5 titanium and an aluminum sub-structure, enhancing durability and lightness. They introduce a novel Action button, replacing the Mute switch, which can be customized for various functions.

Regarding photography, both models feature a 48MP wide-angle camera with an f/1.78 aperture and an anti-glare coating. Additionally, there’s a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera with an f/2.2 aperture. The iPhone 15 Pro includes a 12MP 3x telephoto camera, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max incorporates a 12MP periscope camera setup with an f/2.8 aperture, promising up to 5x optical zoom capability.

Like the standard models, the new iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max feature a USB Type-C port offering USB 3.0 speeds. This enables data transfer speeds of up to 10 Gbps with an optional cable.

Apple asserts that the iPhone 15 Pro can provide a full day of use, while the iPhone 15 Pro Max is claimed to offer even longer battery life. Moreover, according to Apple’s claims, these handsets support the Qi2 standard, which provides faster wireless charging speeds.

As for pricing and availability, the iPhone 15 Pro starts at Rs 1,34,900 for the base 128GB variant, while customers can purchase the iPhone 15 Pro Max for Rs 1,59,900 with 256GB of storage.

iPhone 15 Pro’s 256GB variant will cost Rs 1,44,900, the 512GB variant will cost 1,64,900 while the 1TB will cost Rs 1,84,900. The iPhone 15 Pro Max’s 512GB variant will cost Rs 1,79,900, while the 1TB variant will cost Rs 1,99,900.

Pre-orders for both models will commence on September 15 and officially go on sale starting September 22. Apple offers these devices in various ways, including Black Titanium, Blue Titanium, Natural Titanium, and White Titanium.
